Many reviewers are sounding the alarm bells for Tomodachi Life, saying that while the game is immensely entertaining in the first few days of play, given the novelty factor, it will not last beyond two weeks because, once you have unlocked everything and seen all the dreams and cutscenes and played all the minigames, boredom will set in. And I fully understand what they mean. Personally, though, I believe this game will last a long time for me. I don't see it as a game; it's more of a toy. A toy amuses. A game challenges. I play Don't Starve for a challenge. I play Tomodachi Life for fun. Moreover, I really do love all the miis I've created and put into my game. These miis are among my all-time favorite fictional anime characters and it amuses and pleases me to no end that I can see them living out their own little lives on my 3DS.
The voyeur in me is satisfied. XD
I particularly love the randomness. The fact that I can't control my miis is something I love. (If I wanted to micromanage, I'd play The Sims, and I can't wait for The Sims4 to be released!) So it's come to pass that I often find myself smiling over the random moments in Tomodachi Life when I see miis falling asleep on the park bench, playing video games with their friends, taking a ride on the ferris wheel, combing the beach with a metal detector or just plain chilling on a slow afternoon.
Quote of the Day from Professor Layton: "You can only be truly close to so many people. It's best to choose them wisely."
